Applying for a Railcard

Just hand over the application form (you can fill it out in French (pdf) or Dutch (pdf) then print it) at the at the ticket office of the Belgian station of your choice, along with a recent identity photo (except in the case of Railcards with a variable employers contributions percentage*). In case you should not have a recent passport photo, we can also load this from your electronic ID card. There will be a handling charge of 4,80 EUR** for making up your main card. It will be valid for 5 years.

Fill in all the details fully and don't forget to give your telephone number. This information is only for internal use. It will also be used to provide you with information and ask for your opinion.

Journey Railcards

You'll receive your traincard immediately if your journey is by rail only or by rail combined with the complete De Lijn network or the STIB or TEC urban system.

If your journey is combined with a TEC bus journey, it will take 4 days for your Railcard to arrive.

School Railcards

Applications for School Railcards (available in French (pdf) or Dutch (pdf)) or Campus for those aged 18 and over must be accompanied by a certificate (SNCB form) signed by the college authorities, to be handed over at the station ticket office.

You can download the school certificate in French (pdf) or Dutch (pdf). This document must be filled in by the college authorities. A computerised declaration by the college containing all the necessary information will also be accepted. It just has to be attached to the SNCB form.

* If your employer has signed a “third party payer” agreement with the SNCB, the employee must obtain a "Request for a Railcard minus the employer's contribution" certificate from the personnel officer to get a Railcard.
