You, your Railcard and your employer

Part of or all of the cost of your Railcard is borne by your employer.

How to benefit from the employers contribution

There are two possible scenarios:

  • your employer doesn't have a contract with SNCB. Reimbursement of the employer's portion will come through your employer, who will let you know how this works.
  • your employer has a contract with SNCB. On presentation at the ticket office of a declaration provided by your employer, you pay either the price of the Railcard minus the employer's contribution, or nothing at all if your employer is paying the whole cost of your Railcard.

Other information

  • The amounts of employer's contributions (pdf) are published annually in the Moniteur Belge by the Ministry of Communications and Infrastructure Overland Transport Department.
  • This contribution, which is shown in box V on your annual tax return, is not subject to tax.
  • To see the table of employer's contributions to Traincard prices, please see the Terms and Conditions for transport.
