B-Excursions Train + rent a bike
A great all-in package
The B-Excursion ticket includes 2nd class return travel from your station to one of 19 destinations, plus one day’s bike hire.
The price per person varies according to the distance between your home station and your destination station.
Depending on distance, you will be in one of the following fare zones:
- Zone A: distance less than 35 km;
- Zone B: distance 35 to 69 km;
- Zone C: distance greater than 69 km.
Booking
- You must always book your bike from the hire point in advance.
- Using your booking number, go to your station and buy your B-Excursion Train + Rent A Bike ticket over the counter (no earlier than 31 days before your departure date).
N.B. There are special booking conditions for groups (see below).
Groups
We also have B-Excursion Train + Rent A Bike for groups at even better prices. Every member of the group, regardless of his or her age, pays the same rate. A group consists of at least 15 paying travellers. One additional traveller will enjoy the “all-in” package free of charge for every 15 paying.
Groups must always book well in advance with our domestic services Group Travel department. This department will book seats on the train and bikes at your chosen hire point.

Children
Thanks to our Free 4 Kids package, anyone with an individual B-Excursion ticket can take up to 4 children under the age of 12 years on the train free of charge. This means there are no B-Excursions Train + Rent A Bike packages for the under-12s.
However, almost all the bike points offer children’s bikes (advance booking required).
You can even enjoy a reduction on the rental price on presentation of your B-Excursion ticket. This is not available with the group formula mentioned above.
Reimbursement
For individual travellers
Unused tickets can be refunded at the station where they were purchased. To avail of a full refund, requests must be made before the ticket's date of validity. A fee of 4.80 EUR* per B-Excursion ticket will be deducted for administrative costs from refunds if requests are made on the ticket's date of validity. There are no refunds for requests made after the ticket's validity date or for partly-used tickets.
For groups
Refund requests must be made at the station at least 5 working days prior to the date of travel (to be submitted to the Domestic Group Travel Unit if the tickets have not been issued as yet). If the tickets have already been issued, a fee of 4.80 EUR* for each paying passenger will be deducted from the refund. No reimbursements are given on requests made less than 5 working days before the date of travel. Partly used tickets cannot be reimbursed.
What you need to know about the hire locations
New this season – our collaboration with 17 bike hire points! These are in or very near to the stations. When you get there, you’ll find the bike points (points vélo/fietspunten) easy to recognise from their logo.
Cycle trail maps are on sale in many bike points. Ask about this when you’re booking your bicycles.
Don't forget!
- Your identity card or a valid passport will be required for the hire contract at the bike point and at the company André Léonard. If you live outside Belgium and your identity card doesn’t give your permanent address, you must also present an official document showing your permanent address.
- After a relaxing ride, return the bike to the bike point you got it from, on the same day. Return the bike in good time before your train is due to leave so that the bike hire point will have time to complete a few formalities.
