Finding a seat
You have to sit in a compartment matching the class shown on your ticket. Your ticket only entitles you to one seat on the train.
If you want to occupy more than one seat, you may have to pay a supplement of 12,50 EUR*. However, in trains that aren't very full, you won't be prevented from placing your bag or an item of clothing on the seat next to yours. But if a passenger wants to sit down, you must remove it.
We cannot always guarantee you will find a seat. In some trains there may temporarily not be enough seats. Be polite to other passengers, and give priority to people who have difficulty standing.
Non-smoking trains for the health and comfort of everyone
In line with European Directives, for the health and well-being of both customers and staff, smoking has not been permitted on any of our trains since 1st January 2004.
This smoking ban covers every area of our trains (compartments, platforms, and toilets).
