This is all very well, you may say - but will there still be seats on the train? Of course.
A new generation of trains
To respond to the growth in traffic, SNCB/NMBS has put a new generation of trains into service. There are enough seats available in most of these. In rush hour trains where problems may arise with capacity, we will be giving priority to putting our new double decker carriages into service. They can carry up to 1572 passengers.
However, the possibilities for increasing the capacity of the rolling stock aren't boundless. Unfortunately, there are technical constraints, like the length of the platform or the maximum number of carriages per train, for example.
"Prenez Place" Service
To maximise your chances of enjoying a seat on one of our trains during the rush hour, just look at our timetable look-up form, which will show you, using the 
icon, whether the train you have chosen may be short of seats. Then all you need to do is select a different train, leaving a few minutes earlier or later, where you'll have no trouble finding a seat.
This service, which is provided at present for trains travelling in the rush hour to and from Brussels and Antwerp, will soon be extended to other destinations.
