Personnel of the General Association of Professional Journalists of Belgium (AGJPB/AVBB) as well as personnel of the International Federation of Journalists with the Belgian headquarters and media directorates travel free and benefit from a 75%* discount in 1st class on presentation of the journalist card with code 050.

What does a journalist card look like?

The card consists of a main card and a validation ticket – similar to a railcard.

How to apply?

You request a certificate from the press associations AGJPB/AVBB or AJPP/VJPP (for trainee and professional journalists).

Once completed, hand in this certificate together with an identity photo at your station. Against payment of the issue fee of 5,00 EUR**, the ticket clerk will issue a main card and a validation ticket.

The main card is valid for 5 years and is issued exclusively by SNCB.

The validation ticket is only valid for 1 calendar year and is issued on presentation of the same certificate from AGJPB/AVBB of AJPP/VJPP.

How to apply for a duplicate?

It is possible to obtain a duplicate of the press card (main card and validation ticket). This duplicate is issued on presentation of the applicant’s ID card and against payment of the fixed fee of 5,00 EUR**.

Please remember to have an identity photo with you. In case you should not have a recent passport photo, we can also load this from your electronic ID card.
