• The parent who has (has had) at least 3 children of his/her own, has lifelong entitlement to the discount card (code 040). The reference card must be renewed every ten years against payment of an issue fee. Once registered, the applicant no longer needs to prove that he/she meets the conditions of issue. The validation ticket has to be renewed every 5 years. This is against payment of an issue fee. Validation tickets are issued for a fixed five-year period (... until 31/12/2010 ... until 31/12/2015).
• Their children aged -12 receive a discount card which is valid until the year of their twelfth birthday.
• Their children aged between 12 and 18 receive a discount card which is valid until the year of their eighteenth birthday.
• Their children between 18 and 25 receive a discount card for as long as they’re entitled to child benefit. This discount card must be renewed annually (code 041), against payment of an issue fee.

Cohabitants with at least 3 dependent children aged under 25 entitled to child benefit, can request the discount card for themselves and for their children:

• The parents remain entitled to the discount card (code 041) for as long as the family has 1 child receiving child benefit. The card must be renewed annually, against payment of an issue fee.
• Their children receive a discount card to be renewed annually (code 041), against payment of an issue fee, for as long as they're entitled to child benefit.
