Sales on trains

train guard selling tickets

You must have a valid ticket before you board the train.

If you have been unable to obtain a ticket, tell the staff before you board or as quickly as possible after the train sets off.

Stations where tickets aren't sold

If you're leaving from a station which doesn't issue tickets, there's no problem as long as you inform the train staff in good time. You will be able to buy a ticket on the train at no extra cost.

To save you from having to buy a ticket every time you take a train, SNCB/NMBS sells tickets which are valid for several journeys, such as the Key Card, Go Pass, Rail Pass.

Please note, the ticketing equipment of our train staff is not the same as at the ticket counters. Therefore not all ticket types can be purchased on board the train.

Stations where tickets are on sale

If you board at a station where tickets are issued, but you still buy your ticket on the train, you will have to pay a supplement of 3,00 EUR*. You need to tell the train staff in good time.
