Cycle hire
Even if you haven’t got a train ticket, you can hire a bike in one of our ‘cycle hire’ stations.
Brand new tourist bikes are at your disposal. You can choose between:
- a man's bike and a woman's bike
- a full day or half a day* (from 2 p.m.)

Other info:
- Bicycles can be hired from 7.00 to 19.30
- The bicycles have to be returned 30 min before departure of the train to the station you rented it from.
- Available all year round in the stations of Blankenberge, Brugge, Gent-Sint-Pieters, Knokke and Oostende.
- They can be hired from 1st April to 30th September 2009 in Dendermonde, De Panne, Essen, Ieper, Oudenaarde and Puurs.
- You can buy your cycle hire ticket at any station as of 31 days prior to your bike trip. Please note: If you're hiring a bike for the afternoon only (from 2 p.m.), you have to buy your hire ticket at the station where you're hiring the bike.
- You must always return the bicycle to the station you rented it from.
- When you hire a bike, you sign a contract with SNCB/NMBS. This is why you need to show your identity papers for the hire contract. To find out about our cycle hire conditions, please see our Terms and conditions for transport.
