Discounts for children |
However, there are some conditions to be net: |
- Free travel is permitted from Monday to Friday after 9.01. On Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, this restriction is no longer applicable. The time in question is the time when the train really leaves. This means that a child can take a train whose official departure time is 08.50 if it leaves 15 minutes late.
- Children under the age of 12 years travelling with a "Large Families" discount card are not affected by timetable restrictions and travel free of charge even when unaccompanied.
- Children under 6 can occupy seats. However, if there are not enough seats, they must give up their seats to ticket-holders.
- Free travel is only valid in domestic trains. In the Official Timetable, these trains are marked IC, IR, L, CR, P and ICT.
- This means that the free travel does not apply on the international trains at market prices Thalys, Eurostar, other TGVs and EN (Euronight), where booking is compulsory, or on trains marked INT (International) and EC (Euro City).
